Mom watched the kids play with their new toys while the turkey cooked

Mom got a new apron and kitchen mitts! (This is the 1950's).
Hope you fared better!

"It's true, Christmas can feel like a lot of work, particularly for mothers. But when you look back on all the Christmases in your life, you'll find you've created family traditions and lasting memories. Those memories, good and bad, are really what help to keep a family together over the long haul."

Time to relax! Good job parents. (and Santa). Cheers CM

Merry Christmas!
I Love seeing all the "life" in your houses! The History and the stories and the memories are a big part of what makes the mini world so much fun for me!
Have a wonderful Holiday!

I remember one year I got new set of pots and pans for Christmas. I wasn't thrilled at the time, but 30+ years later I am still using them, so they turned out to be a great gift after all . Moms deserve so much credit for 'creating' magical Christmases every year.
I love your picture of Mom enjoying her kids excitement.

Katie found the quote from Caroline Kennedy and it just made me realize usually Mom IS Santa. Love your story, CM
