Colette looks at the "Villa Sibi" she is giving her daughter for Christmas

Colette got a package in the mail. It is the "Villa Sibi" she ordered for her daughter.
She is sooooooooooooooooo excited. It is so perfect!
Where will she hide it? She really wants to play with it herself!

It isn't clear to me why this picture is no longer here, click on it to go to flickr and I'll work on it. C

Thanks Oese!

BIG BOX!

Little boxes!!! Big smiles.

Uh Oh...

I got a slip in the mail late Saturday saying I have a package to pick up at the Post Office from Hong Kong...

I have NEVER had those Designer chairs before... Could it be? Is it Christmas?

I thought it was Thanksgiving...

Thanksgiving Dinner by dollhouse kitchen

Pass your plate! The first time I saw this I thought it was my size. (Which is getting bigger every day with all the trimming of Thanksgiving arriving in my house, my friends' houses and my daughter's house).

I am leaving to spend next week with my East Coast daughter in Washington D.C. The Grecons may have to go with me...

I don't think the Grecons will be visiting her Law School, though. I can just hear her,

MOTHER! What are you DOING? Well, at least they should see the White House.

Just for Fun

Little Go Peek

It's all in the eye of the beholder...

My little granddaughter came over to my house. She is very good and gentle with my doll house collection. Mind you, one of this child's first words was "house" and she'd point.

I opened the door for her to my Christian Hacker dollhouse and let her remove a sturdy, little, round hall table to play with. Then I closed and latched the door.

"The sheep" she said. At first I didn't hear her. "I want the ba ba black sheep", she looked at me.

"Charlotte," I replied confused. "There are no sheep in there. This is a house... not a barn". I thought I'd solved it.

"I want to see the baa baa black sheep", she practically wept....

So I unlatched the front and we looked in the house,

My, my. Sure enough there WAS a sheep in there! But she didn't get to hold it because it is made of glass and is an English antique and that was ok with her because she saw the sheep.

Wow I just learned of a new flickr group!

Thanksgiving: my favorite holiday

My favorite American custom is Thanksgiving. We take the time to be grateful for the harvests of our life. It is also a time we acknowledge the hardships we have had to overcome to survive and the need to share what we have with others to help them survive too.

Well... drag out the Colonial dollhouse.

Dear fellow bloggers, I am stressed.

I have been reading blogs for years: Coco and Kelley, Design Sponge, Fleurisita, things I've made, Soule Mama, Green bean baby, Shopping Sherpa, Stitchado, All sorts, grosgrain, Pioneer Woman, and all my favorite dollhouse blogs, (room by room, etc. Just check my blog list from every list and go outward.)

I wanted comments, but I got porn!

I want to leave comments, (witness that I left 2 comments on Susan's minihouse blog, before I even figured out she had an element to approve comments!)

How did you do it? I'd love to know. Please help me learn.

My wonderful children used to help me but one has a 3 yr. old and works in the Richmond School District in California. The other is in Law school in Washington, DC and said, "I love you but I have ten minutes".

Please contact me through FLICKR, at More2view. It must be easy to do this ... Your blogs do so much. I'd love to know how you learned. AND your blogs look so great! Thanks,

xoxo, C

"Honestly, Colette!" her neighbor swore...

,
"I just told Mr. Blue-green, to get rid of it!"

Colette thought, this is ALL I need.

Then she remembered her gallery was shipping a delivery of old American furniture, modern light fixtures and Mexican textiles to Germany....

Homage to Sue's mini homes blog.

Because the miniaturist blog world is a small one after all... xoxo My Realitty

"Happy Birthday, Babe!" said Jim, "What?"

The kids came home from school

"O M G !" said Colette's son! " What

is THAT thing?"

Her daughter yelled, "MOM!"

"Do you think she'll like it? "Jim asked the guys.

"Who wouldn't" said Jeremy admiringly.

The guys carried the female art form from Mr. Blue-green's house and set it up in Jim and Colette's livingroom.

"Thanks" said Jim to his neighbor, "I was wondering what to get Colette for her birthday! It's a litttle pricey... but what the heck!"

They heard footsteps...

It's all in the eye of the beholder....

"Whoa, You gotta lot of art in here!"
said Jeremy to Jim one day.
"Yeah,"he replied..."My girlfriend
collects it."
Which gave Mr. Blue-green, their neighbor, an idea......

Update from pinchofpepper our Tool Guru

Due to many questions about what a dremmel actually is, pinchofpepper sent these photos of her table saw and dremmel. As you can see the table saw is small. No wonder I almost lose a finger trying to use the one in my garage... and Santa I've been good (that's a lie) and I don't have a dremmel...

"Really Susan, they aren't pets" by Slinkachu

This creation of Slinkachu's just knocks me out! This is exactly how I felt about bees when I was little.

I love the juxtaposition of size.

I love how the bee looks like it was just hit. Wow.

Major whimsey goin down here.

From the sublime to the ridiculous.

Which is what going from Christian Hacker's work to contemporary doll hackers might be.

Ever taken a Barbie head off a doll and put it on Ken's body? Come on admit it. Well you wanted to...right?

If so you're gonna LOVE these guys. Talk about creativity! Talk about evocative! Talk about social comment. What better way than using dolls and dollhouses which are distilled representatives of our culture at large. Enough talking... Look at this creation by Tomo.Moko.
