German bedroom set of undetermined age. That's quite a useful idea, to use the houses wall as some kind of garden if opened... By the way, did you know that "Gottschalk" is a wellknown last name in Germany? The host of one of our most popular tv shows is named Thomas Gottschalk and even more important, it's my doctor's last name too, lol.

Greetings ;O)

The man who created this house was a famous German dollhouse designer.
German dollhouses or furniture are some of the finest made, in my opinion. C

The Gottschalk is really a beautiful little house, I like the balconies!
And I liked the idea of using the front as a garden, it looks good too! And the wicker furniture is lovely!

It might be my favorite house. I love the colors, the green and maroon combination. C

Lovely! Thanks for sharing! The wicker furniture is quite collectible and great-looking -- perhaps the name is Kibri? I think it is in Zillner's International dollhouse resource book. I have it at home and can check for you. By the way, I was given a Limoges chamber pot that would go great in your Gottschalk -- up for a swap? ;)

DUH! I see you included mention of the maker up top -- sorry, didn't see it! Too taken with the possibility of chamber pot!

Yes, what are you in need of? Extra Bozart art? Strombecker? Let me know. C

It's absolutely beautiful, I love the shape of the roof and that folding down front is so smart! And I love the colours also :)

I love the Gottchalk for the colours as well! I think they too are my favourite kind of dollhouses. They look kind of small. Very good for small intimate scenes. I will have a serious problem deciding how to decorate it though.

I also agree with you that the German makers have some of the finest minis :).

Wow, what a great house! Love everything about it, especially the roofline! FYI ~ I found your house listed in the Cieslik book as being made in 1914/15.

Oh cool. Will you give me the title and publisher? Can you take a picture of it from the book? Thanks Carol

Oh I love this little house and the way you have it decorated! A very sweet little house, CM!

Thank you Florine. It is one of my favorites. My next post will be about the red finished livingroom furniture. :) C

I sent the book info to you via email yesterday...hope you received it!

My Realitty said...

UH oh... I might have deleted it not knowing who you were... did you use my aol? C

CM - I sent the message via "friend connect"....it didn't show an email address so I don't know where it went. It wouldn't allow me to attach a pic of the house from the book either. To simplify, I'll just post the info here! The book is called "Moritz Gottschalk 1892-1931" by Marianne Cieslik, and printed by Gold Horse Publishers. The book consists entirely of reprints from the original Gottschalk catalogs from that period. It's available on Amazon.

Mon ami, what is a "lloyd loom type suite?" Thanks C

hi C, the lounge suite and table.. it's lovely. lloyd loom pieces are made from wicker or woven cane, very sturdy.
