Strombecker Dollhouse Bedroom Set

This is one of my favorite sets by the Strombecker Company. It is a children's nursery set. Notice the details of the colorful ball pulls. The duck rocker toy is cute too.

Here is the version from McKendry's Dollhouse history .

She dates it from 1938 with many more pictures that can be found at her website here:  http://www.mckendry.net/DOLLHOUSES/1930s-part_2.htm

I forgot about this old picture on flickr. Thanks for reminding me, R. From 2009, C.

We aren't kids? C

I thought that we were kids. We get to play with dolls and dollhouses, and make up stories and go on play dates to the other side of the continent. That was so much fun. I can't wait to do it again!!!

P.S. I love this bedroom set - and I really need one.

These are so gorgeous! I had never heard of Strombecker until I discovered some of your vintage blog posts and am now besotted with it (although will continue to limit my enjoyment to other's blogs. :~)). What a great link - this bit amazes me "In contrast to a Tynietoy furnished wooden dollhouse selling for just over $260 (wholesale) in the 1930s, a cardboard dollhouse with 42 pieces of wooden Strombecker furniture could be purchased retail for $1.77"

Cool facts. I know, it is so much fun to discover a new brand of dollhouse and furniture. Do you know Tootsietoy also? It is fun too. C
