Little girls made samplers learning the alphabet while mastering different stitches. Colonial women worked alongside their husbands and often inherited their businesses if their husbands died. The girls had to be ready to work as Colonial life was hard.

Betsy has done a great job of her sampler.
I've got an inherited sampler stitched by my great great great grandmother when she was 9! I don't think my 13 year old would have the patience to do something similar (though maybe she could prove me wrong).
Wow can you show us a picture?
They didn't have tv or many toys so had to make things. Thanks for you response. CM
I have really enjoyed the story of the Reveres and their staff so far!
History was one of my favourite subjects at school and yours as well it seems :-) And all the scenes are just lovely and with so many nice details as well! Keep'em coming CM!
